New Workplace Charging Scheme

The government has launched a new scheme to encourage workplaces to install fast electric vehicle (EV) charging points for the benefit of their staff called the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS).

Working from home

This is great news if your primary place of work is also a residential property (your home), you can apply for the grant under this scheme as long as your address is listed as your place of business with Companies House or HMRC.

Wil-Lec Managing Director Steve Wilson said” This is a great opportunity for businesses located at home, with off road parking facilities, to take advantage of the £350 grant to install their own Fast EV Charging Point. As electric vehicles become more and more popular companies can benefit by adding this staff benefit to their premises.”

About the scheme

The scheme is voucher based that provides eligible companies with financial support to purchase and install EV charging points.

Eligibility

The WCS is open to businesses, charities and public sector organisations that meet the applicant and site eligibility criteria. You an also check the evidence required here.

The grant covers up to 75% of the total costs to purchase and install up to a maximum of:

  • £350 per socket
  • 40 sockets across all sites per applicant, e.g. if you would like to install them in 40 sites you will have one socket per site.

If eligible you can apply for a voucher here and if successful will be issued with a voucher code via email which can then be given to Wil-Lec who are an OZEV authorised MCS installer.

Once your new Fast EV Charging Point has been installed by Wil-Lec we will then claim the grant on your behalf.

Wil-Lec is the area’ leading independent installer of Fast EV Charging Points and is an authorised OZEV installer for scheme.
