Why is my hot water not working?

Why is my hot water not working?

There are a few reasons why you might not have hot water in your home. Here are some of the most common causes and how to fix them:

Boiler problems

If your boiler is not working properly, it won't be able to heat your water. This could be due to a number of things, such as a faulty thermostat, a problem with the gas valve, or a leak in the tank. If you think your boiler is the problem, it's best to call a qualified engineer to take a look. At Wil-lec Group all our heating engineers are Gas Safe registered get in touch and we'll be glad to have a look at your boiler for you.

Power or water supply problems

Make sure that your boiler is connected to a power source and that your water supply is turned on. If you've recently had a power outage, your boiler may have tripped its circuit breaker. You can usually reset the circuit breaker yourself, but if you're not sure how, it's best to give Wil-lec Group a call and one of our skilled, friendly electricians will get you up and running again..

Low water pressure

Your boiler needs a certain amount of water pressure to operate properly. If the pressure is too low, your boiler won't be able to heat your water. You can check your water pressure using the gauge on your boiler. If the pressure is low, you may need to top up your water supply.

Pilot light problems (gas boilers only)

If you have a gas boiler, the pilot light is a small flame that keeps the gas burner lit. If the pilot light goes out, your boiler won't be able to heat your water. You can usually relight the pilot light yourself, but if you're not comfortable doing so, it's best to call a for one of our Gas Safe Registered heating engineers..

Pipe problems

Leaking or frozen pipes can prevent hot water from reaching your taps and faucets. If you suspect you have a pipe problem, it's best to call our heating team to take a look.

Timer problems

If you have a combi boiler, it may have a timer that controls when hot water is available. If the timer is not set correctly, you may not have hot water when you need it. Check the timer settings and make sure they are correct.

Other possible causes

There are a few other possible causes of hot water problems, such as a faulty diverter valve or a problem with the boiler reset button. If you've checked all of the above and you're still not sure why you don't have hot water, it's best to call Wil-lec Group on 01472 241881 or contact us here and one of our heating team will be glad to help you get your hot water back on.
